My dear Jim & Bob: The enclosed letter will interest you; a reply to a letter of congratulations I had writ- ten to Tooey Spaatz over his promotion. Hope Wim got up to see you on Friday, as he said he expected to do in a letter I got from him yesterday. He is still having trouble where he is and I don't be¬ lieve he will ever settle down there or be satisfied. Am surely glad that Bob is picking up and hope the improvement continues. You ought to get this letter on Marie's birthday. February 5th. Hope to see her and Sister on that day or the day following. Not much excitement around here just at present. Our fine spring-like weather has given way to wind and rain, so it is rather dreary. But I have a sermon, a conference and a speech to prepare for delivery over the week-end so it is good weather for inside work. With love to all, John St. Joseph's Hill Infirmary FRANCISCAN MISSIONARY BROTHERS Eureka, Missouri FEB7 2—PM 1940 Mr. James & Robert Markoe 1937 Selby Ave. St. Paul, Minn.
