COPY The Creighton University Omaha 31, Nebraska February 14, 1959 Dear President "Ike" I have just heard the sad news about Secretary Dulles. It hurts inside, a double hurt, one for him and one for you. Words are inadequate to express one's feelings. But, sad as these feelings are, they are tempered by the thought that God, through his providence, is ruling all things and, in his wisdom, knows what is best. And he has called good old Charlie Daly. I always like him. Although I have not written in a long time, President "Ike I am continually watching your heroic struggle against the forces of evil and am praying for your success day and night. My two sisters, Nuns of the Visitation Monastery in St. Louis, told me recently that one of Mrs. Eisenhower's sisters attended school there in the Visitation Academy. Now this calls for no reply, dear President "Ike", as it is just to let you know that my prayer's and sympathy are with you. Devoterly always, Johnnie
