Abstract
Here is a treasure from the history of fable scholarship. A beginning T of C lays out the two parts of the introduction on Phaedrus' paraphrases and the Aesopic fable in the middle ages. Then come the four books of Romulus' fables and an appendix of some 73 fables, all of these numbered individually -- for a total of 156 fables. There is a German AI at the end. I think I am lucky to have found this book! I presume that a reader of it now will want to have Thiele's "Der Lateinische Äsop" handy for comparison.
