Recueil des Fables de La Fontaine (Cover: "Les Fables de La Fontaine")

Abstract

This is an unusual René Touret booklet in that it admits a year of publication! That year was the year after World War II. Perhaps that fact has something to do with the unusual features of this large pamphlet. For example, it has only four illustrations on its 16 pages; perhaps text was cheaper to print. Further, the illustrations' coloring seems garish, particularly for FG and OF. The other illustrations are AD and OR. Urbain Raymond signs FG and AD. The front cover repeats OF and the back cover AD. The booklet, with its one staple at the center, is in surprisingly good condition. Touret is here mentioned without reference to ERT, as happens frequently in other publications associated with him.
