FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|The United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit heard at least thirty-four appeals during 1980 related to administrative law and social security. Twenty-five of the cases emanated from the federal district court and nine from administrative law courts. Four significant and cohesive concerns emerged from these diverse cases which will be discussed in this survey: 1) pendent claims to federal jurisdiction in social security related cases; 2) court guidelines in reviewing disability appeals; 3) the application of exemptions to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act; and 4) the nature of allowable evidence in railway line abandonment proceedings...
