Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in reading achievement of poor readers exposed to two reading programs at the fifth grade level. Specifically, the study was undertaken to determine change in the selected reading skills, of vocabulary growth and reading comprehension, by comparing students using a basal reader in a traditional grouping arrangement with comparable students employing the case study approach.
