Abstract

It is generally agreed that the expansion of industrialization enhances the economic opportunity of the society experiencing it. This, in a general sense, is because industrialization increases the flow of goods, and the distribution of these goods benefits the society. When applying this philosophy to Nebraska, increasing industrialization will create job opportunities and thus decrease the present out-migration of population. Decreasing outmigration will, in turn, create subsidiary opportunities in many industries which serve household and personal needs. This multiplier effect increases total opportunity in the state, thus increasing the value of businesses and real property, with the subsequent economic gains benefiting the members of the Nebraska society.
