Abstract

Here is one of some 38 inexpensive Turkish editions of Aesop bought together. This is an earlier and better publication of a pamphlet already in the collection from 1977 from the same publisher. Like that, this is also a simple one-staple 32-page pamphlet offering first several fox fables and then several mouse fables with appropriate black-and-white illustrations, here more distinct than there. A young hand -- or the publisher? -- has offered green coloring to the grapes on 10, 11, 12, and 13. The cover illustration is similar but further cropped, differently colored, and framed with a dentil pattern. Again the stork has plunged its head into an enormous cone. The price is 100 kurus rather than the later 200.
