Abstract
This is a pleasant little find: 64 pages with many delightful line drawings by Fritz Fischer. For example, Demjan's overfed guest on 14 is perfect, as are Demjan and his soup-carrying wife! This "little book" has brought me back again to Krylov, who is always delightful. Baumann's rhyming verse translations suit Krylov well. This copy includes the original bookmark celebrating the book as a member of the series "Das Kleine Buch." 4½ x 7½.
