Abstract

INTRODUCTION|Within this last survey period, the Nebraska Supreme Court decided several cases in the family law area. Although several of these cases involved new developments, most simply reaffirmed previous holdings.|Last year the Nebraska Supreme Court took judicial notice "that under present economic conditions $100 per month is far less than the actual cost of caring for a child in an acceptable manner." This statement has resulted in some interesting cases, particularly in view of the fact that the Nebraska Courts continue to hold husbands primarily responsible for the support of their children. It should be noted, however, that the wife's ability to support the children must also be taken into account...
