Abstract
On June 27, 2013, the Creighton Leadership summit kicked off bringing together groups of inter-disciplinary university leaders to discuss and solve many challenges. One challenge presented, was bringing awareness to equity and inclusion. As a result of completing the leadership summit and continual efforts afterward, an Equity and Inclusion Pledge was created. DoIT has encouraged all staff members to make the Equity and Inclusion Pledge and uphold the principals outlined within. DoIT is supporting the Creighton student focused mission by following the Equity and Inclusion Pledge The Pledge helps DoIT reflect on transcendent values, including their relationship with God, in an atmosphere of freedom of inquiry, belief and religious worship. St. Ignatius emphasized the active expression of God's love in life and the need to be self-forgetful in humility. Part of Jesuit formation is the undertaking of service specifically to the poor and sick in the most humble ways. DoIT strives to honor and uphold the Jesuit mission in every one we assist.
