Abstract
This small (4¼" x 5¾") pamphlet presents a life of La Fontaine soon after the war. Notable in it is the cover by Gaston Barret of La Fontaine among the animals. Inside, the frontispiece pictures La Fontaine dealing with a squirrel on a stump. Other interior illustrations come from the life of La Fontaine. He is pictured holding a baby fox, feeding animals, facing a thief whom he is supposed to judge (?), arriving on a wagon of pastries, talking with Louis XIV, and meeting Madame de Sabliere.
