Abstract
Despite national health initiatives to decrease adolescent sexually transmitted infections (STIs), they remain high-risk for STIs. Barriers exist for adolescents seeking sexual health information. Adolescents spend a great deal of time using the Internet obtaining information and socializing. A social networking site for adolescents, providing STI information was developed and evaluated in a Midwestern metropolitan county, with high rates of adolescent STIs. Information was located on the Business Facebook site Teen Sexual Health Information. This project aimed to provide confidential and accurate STI information via the social networking site Facebook, to help adolescents make informed decisions about their sexual health.
