Abstract
FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|Insurance cases heard by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals during the 1979 session addressed a variety of interesting problems. Cases discussed in this survey include the application of omnibus clause coverage, the interpretation of the North Dakota uninsured motorist statute, the determination of the carrier's liability for excess insurance payments, the application of a valued business interruption policy, and the adjudication of whether life insurance proceeds denied to the slayer should be paid to the estate of the insured.|Issues presented to the Eighth Circuit were in first instance decided by the district court applying state law. Difficulties for the Eighth Circuit arose in the interpretation of the applicable state law but these considerations also prompted interesting comparisons with current law of sister states within the circuit...
