Abstract
If I were a young child, I would be happy to have someone show me and read to me from this sixteen-page pamphlet. The story bears witness that the authors, husband and wife, "have been storytellers and authors for twenty-five years," as the inside-back-cover relates. The fox in FC spied the crow, his mouth watered, and "'I will have that cheese in no time,' the fox thought to himself." After compliments, the fox asked "Do you sing as well?" In "The Fox and the Goat," the fox moaned "Oh no! I will be stuck down here forever." MacDonald's visuals are worthy of the good storytelling, and the reproduction of his artistry is crisp, clear, and colorful. I especially appreciate the two illustrations that put together the two stories. The cover has the fox standing next to the well, the goat leaning out of it, and the crow sitting on top of its pulley. The title-page has the crow perched on top of the fox's head, with the goat in the distance.
