Here is a 78-page pamphlet, about 5" x 7½", presenting nineteen of La Fontaine's fables, divided into fables of animals, of plants, and of people. Appendices offer La Fontaine's own statements on fables, comments on their character as literature, on La Fontaine's life, and on French metrics. There is a vocabulary, organized by fables and sections, on 52. Very good condition.
