Abstract

This article elaborates on the philosophical tenets of the Buddhist worldview and lays theoretical ground for the mindfulness-based practices that are advocated for in recent ADR literature. It will follow the claims of both the Transformative and Narrative approaches to mediation that the manner in which the self is perceived by the mediator has a major effect on her mediation approach and will offer a Buddhist-oriented philosophical map of mediation theory and practice derived from the Buddhist relational view of the self.
