Abstract

"Avec de Nouvelles Gravures En Tete de Chaque Fable." The special attraction of this small book lies in the 113 illustrations. They are unfortunately small. And so the cat in I 6 Almost gets lost, as do the fish in I 7. More helpful is II 8’s illustration: a tender mother helps her child learn life’s interactive lesson. The other side of parenting is in IV 10, well portrayed in its drama and its humor. The seller offered this description: " Brown leather with gold gilt decorations around edges of front and back covers, and gold titles and decorations on spine. The covers, and worn, especially at the corners, edges and spine, the spine on the front cover is cracked but still attached. Blue marbled end papers." AI at the end. 5½” x 3½”. 244 pages. Not in Bodemann.
