INTRODUCTION|The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution limits a state court's ability to obtain a binding judgment over a nonresident defendant. Over the years, the United States Supreme Court has developed a two-part test to determine whether a court's assertion of jurisdiction over a nonresident defendant comports with due process. First, the nonresident defendant must have "purposefully established 'minimum contacts' in the forum State. These minimum contacts must be based on "some act by which the defendant purposefully avails itself of the privilege of conducting activities within the forum State, thus invoking the benefits and protections of its laws."...
