The original English "The Fast Hare and the Slow Tortoise" seems unknown and unavailable. This German version is a fascinating board book of ten alternating full and die-cut pages, 6½" square. The idea of a race comes here from the hare. The match of the die-cut pages to the scenes on the full pages is the secret of this book's success. For example, turn the die-cut page and the race has begun! Later, turn the die-cut page and the tortoise has crossed the finish line. "LANGSAM und stetig is besser als SCHNELL und unaufmerksam."
