FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|"The business of a law school is not sufficiently described when you say that it is to teach law or to make a lawyer. It is to teach law in the grand manner, and to make great lawyers." Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr|"The grand manner" in which Michael J. O'Reilly breathed life into the law in his theater (read classroom) has been expertly recaptured by Pat Parenteau. For those of us fortunate enough to know Michael outside the classroom, it is obvious that Michael's approach to life parallels his "grand manner" of teaching.|Few persons, I think, can equal Michael's intellectual genius either in depth or in breadth. But even more than that absolutely no one has the style and the grace, the verve and the vitality, the wit and the warmth, the elocution and the elegance, that Michael exudes. These characteristics of Michael's life style infect everyone around him and they have made the Creighton Law School a very special place for the past eighteen years. Perhaps the French language is more expressive of Michael's qualities: au courant, savoir faire and joie de vivre...
