Abstract
I am indebted to Peter Everaers for researching this unusual leaflet about 7" x 9ΒΌ". It contains two segments, apparently in reverse chronological order. Each segment contains thirteen prose fables, printed with blank versos and accompanied by Grandville's illustrations, well printed despite the somewhat browned paper. The two segments are pages 25-36 (from 1848) and 99-112 (from 1847). The cover is later marbled paper. I am particularly indebted to Peter for the information that these two segments come from "Nieuw Nederlandsch Prentenboek", collected by W.J. van Zeggelen & A. Ising. I will guess that they are responsible for the Dutch prose of the fables. My, the things one comes upon!
