Several years ago as people first began to realize that computers were coming, the general impression was that there would soon be fewer accountants. This has certainly not been the case. The growth of larger organizations, diversification in business, technological complexity, and the pace at which we live, have brought about a new approach to the profession of accountancy. This paper is concerned with the management services area, where significant changes and opportunities lie.
