Abstract

The development of Israeli legal education, in the past, present and future, is closely linked to Israel's development as a state. Since its birth in 1948 to the present day, Israeli society and its legal system have been frequently evolving, and new social challenges are met not only by new legislation but also by significant shifts in legal education. In this chapter, a brief history of the legal education system in Israel is provided, followed by a description of its current state. Finally, the chapter reviews the challenges it has faced in the past ? and those it is currently facing.
