T his 24-page pamphlet almost square in format () has eleven fables well presented in two-page facing spreads. The selection represents, I believe, Krylov's most popular fables. Some of Krylov's best inventions -- Quartet; A Foursome Tries to Pull a Cart; Spectacles and the Monkey; and The Bear Bending Wood -- are there along with Aesopic favorites like FG, FC, and GA. The illustration for GA may be the best.
