Abstract
Here is a little paperback book of 26 rhymed argot fables, featuring La Fontaine's original text italicized on left-hand pages and Alexandre's argot rendering on the right. Be careful! There are two "runovers" where an extra right-hand page offers both the left-over La Fontaine and the left-over argot. They are OR (19) and "Pumpkin and Acorn" (45). I cannot establish whether the argot here characterizes a particular area or group.
