INTRODUCTION|The collegiate press is big business. In the state of Nebraska alone, the newspapers of the University of Nebraska system and the state colleges reach more than thirty-four thousand readers. In some communities the collegiate press exceeds the circulation of the local newspaper. |On public college campuses the newspaper may serve as a bulletin board for administrative and student notices. It may also provide a sounding board for a wide range of ideas generated both on and off campus.
