INTRODUCTION|Olga Monge worked on the night shift in the Beebe Rubber Company for $1.84 per hour. When a position at higher wages in the factory became available, she applied for the opening. Her foreman indicated that to secure the better job Ms. Monge "would have to be 'nice'." The foreman invited her to go out with him, but Ms. Monge refused his advances. The company personnel manager asked Ms. Monge "not to make trouble" as he knew that the foreman "used his position to force his attentions on the female employees under his authority. Ms. Monge then encountered the foreman's hostility in a series of events which ultimately resulted in her dismissal...
