Abstract
First Paragraph: | We may put it down as a fact, that whenever an eclipse of the Sun occurs at any place, the astronomer there is sure to be asked, especially by the representatives of the press: “Does an eclipse of the Sun ever become total here? How often does that happen? When will it happen next? When did it happen last?” These questions are obviously more easy to ask than to answer.
