Abstract

Health care is an essential aspect of our daily lives. We rely on it far more than we probably realize. In 2009, the United States spent 17.6% of the GDP on health care (Wilson). Across other developed countries, health care consumed an average of 9% of the GDP. These health care costs are expected to go up in the coming years. It is important that we receive the best care possible and in order to do this, we continuously have to be monitoring the quality of healthcare.
