Abstract
FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|During the 1998 session of the Nebraska Legislature, LB 1041 was passed and then signed into law by Governor Ben Nelson. The bill had the emergency clause, but it specified an effective date of July 1, 1998, as to all provisions. The primary purpose behind LB 1041 was to bring Nebraska into compliance with the provisions of the Federal Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997 ("ASFA").
