Abstract
INTRODUCTION|A notable amendment to the statutes relating to motor registration was made by the Unicameral in its 1974 legislative session. In L.B. 876 the period during which a purchaser of a motor vehicle may operate the vehicle without registration was shortened from fifteen to ten days. Also, a new provision was added requiring any seller of a motor vehicle, other than a licensed dealer in motor vehicles, to deliver to the buyer a certificate stating the names and addresses of the buyer and seller, plus the date of delivery of the vehicle. Both this certificate, which will be supplied by the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the certificate of title must be presented by the buyer upon the demand of proper authorities.
