FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|The newest member of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals was recently appointed by President Reagan and was sworn in on April 6, 1982. Judge Gibson received his B.A. in 1949 and his J.D. in 1953 from the University of Missouri at Columbia. After graduating from law school, Judge Gibson joined a law firm in Kansas City, Missouri. From 1952 to 1981 he was engaged primarily in trial and appellate work. In September of 1981 he was appointed United States District Judge for the Western District of Missouri. Judge Gibson has served as President of the Missouri Bar Association and the Kansas City Bar Association, and as a trustee to the University of Missouri at Columbia Law School Foundation...
