Abstract

BACKGROUND Pharmacotherapy courses require students to obtain content knowledge and then apply that knowledge to increasingly complex patients. To help students better connect attainment of knowledge to practical clinical application, an extracurricular, noncredit course was developed using cognitive psychology learning principles to promote learning and retention.
