Abstract

Here is the twenty-fifth fascicle. Pages 385-400, plus a jacket. This fascicle first finishes "The Young Wife," with a full-page scene of putti gathering around a dark tombstone while the widow relates in the dark with a new someone. Doré can be dark! This fable finishes Book VI. Book VII begins with a dedication to Madame de Montespan and continues then with "The Animals Sick from the Plague," together with a full-page collection of sick animals around King Lion. We then find the first part of the text of "The Man Badly Married."
