INTRODUCTION|It is a truism that each of us values reputation in one way or another. A person's interest in protecting, and the corresponding right to protect, reputation have been historically recognized in the common law. This right has become threatened by the United States Supreme Court in Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc. v. Hepps.
