Abstract
Provider bias has been identified as one major contributor to health care disparities among patients from diverse cultures/religions/ethnicities and socioeconomic status.1 Research regarding health disparities in clinical settings yields numerous results with evidence that provider bias is a contributing factor for some healthcare providers.1,2 However, specific data regarding the community pharmacy setting and healthcare disparities is lacking. Some of the existing research does implicate pharmacy practice as an additional setting contributing to disparities among diverse patient populations.3 The parameters that influence these disparities have not yet been explored in-depth. Therefore, we have developed a survey tool to measure provider bias in the community pharmacy setting.
