Abstract
Here is a children's storybook with thick, unnumbered pages and a wide variety of story-types. The one fable is identified as from Aesop and takes two pages late in the book: "The Cats and the Monkey." When the monkey has taken several nibbles out of both pieces of cheese, the cats cry "We are satisfied. Let us have the two pieces as they are." The bespectacled monkey responds "You may be satisfied, but the court is not. What remains is my fee." After the monkey eats the last of the cheese, he declares the case settled. Two simple but effective black-and-white illustrations.
