Abstract
Here is a fragile, delicate little book of some 21 pages plus a colophon page. The book presents GA, FC, and FG. Each has a strong illustration. The best of these may be the two-page spread for FC at the center of this thread-bound book's central signature. Are the creators of the book having fun with Guillaume Du Chênais as illustrator? The name is of course William Cheney gallicized. The colophon page similarly uses French to identify editor, artist, and publisher. The grasshopper illustration used here is used again in Cigales, Grasshoppers, and Ants by Cheney in 2006. This book is in the running for smallest in this collection. It is about 1 x 1½. Don't lose it! Here is a case where the cataloguing process has just revealed that I already had another copy -- at less than one-sixth the cost! I will keep the second copy in the collection for two reasons: it is a limited edition -- even though how limited is not made clear in the book -- and it is so small that I will lose it if I do not include it!
