"When Christ was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to God, who was able to save him from death."||Some of us have had the experience of our mothers telling us not to cry, to be strong and to cover over our human weakness. And, some of us have been through painful evenings when we have cried ourselves to sleep.|Tears and loud cries in our hearts are so often disdained as a sign of weakness. Yet, in Jesus' Heart, human weakness is the place of communion with the Father's Spirit who is Love. Jesus learned this beautiful truth from his mother, Mary. She taught him that human weakness was not to be disdained. In fact, it was there that he was conceived. She knew as a mother that all our sorrows and fears are consoled whenever we relate in humility and receive from God.|How can tears be wiped away by God's love if covered over by trying to be strong? And, how can painful sorrows be consoled if we disdain relating to God from our human weakness?|Real prayer, in the Name of Jesus, takes us to see the beauty of our tears and the blessedness of our human weakness.
