FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|Legislative Bill 777 amends the Parenting Act to permit a court to require parents to complete a court-approved parenting education course if they are a party to a divorce action or an action involving child custody or visitation. The parenting education course is required to educate the parents about the impact divorce, custody, or visitation actions will have on their child[ren].|In addition, the bill provides that each parent is responsible for the cost of attending the parenting education course, and "upon good cause shown," the court may determine that a parent does not need to attend such a course or that a parent will not be required to attend such a course with the other parent...
