FIRST PARAGRAPH(S)|During the survey period, the Nebraska Supreme Court decided a number of cases involving municipal corporations. State ex rel. Schuler v. Dunbar is of particular significance because it deals with the construction and interpretation of the Nebraska open meetings law.|In Schuler, the Nebraska Supreme Court addressed the issue of whether a board of county commissioners could validly amend its minutes nunc pro tunc, after the commencement of suit, to show the taking and recording of a roll call vote as required by the Nebraska open meetings law. The supreme court held the board's correction nunc pro tunc could not be used to satisfy the mandatory statutory directive, and that the open meetings law mandates that action taken in violation of this requirement shall be invalid...
