Abstract
Here is the fifty-second fascicle. Pages 817-832 plus a jacket. This fascicle first finishes "The Elephant and Jupiter's Monkey." It then presents "The Fool and the Sage"; "The English Fox," with a very dark full-page illustration of the fox viewing all sorts of victim animals hanging from a wall; "The Sun and the Frogs"; and the beginning of "The League of Rats," with one of Doré's strong full-page illustrations of a rat-crowd moving toward a cat in the background. The cat already has in his mouth the victim-mouse that the rats set out to help.
