BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Mr. Bhatia resided in Washington and had at this point been the United States Representative of the Hindustan Times for several Years. He has an N.A. in English. Prior to becoming the Editor of the Hindustan Times he was Chief Political Correspondant and Chief of the National Newsa Bureau of the Statesmen, another leading Indian daily newspaper.
SUMMARY
Bhatia reviewed the stereotypes on both sides of the US-India relationship, including how the British contributed to both. The Cold War tensions between the US and the USSR drive the US into some actions toward India that seem unwarranted, especially when the US leans toward arming Pakistan and backing its government.
