Abstract

This 24-page landscape-shaped pamphlet is apparently the only fable book in the series; the other editions in the series are listed on the back cover. The use of color in this simple pamphlet is excellent, for example, in the WL scene on the first two pages. Just a touch of red highlights the tongue in the open mouth of the wolf. A dramatic last image for this story has the wolf cleaning off a bone from those lying around him in the woods. FC finishes similarly with a small image of the crow flying up and off to the right, escaping the picture and the scene. The last image in GA shows the expansive black-and-white world into which the ant sends the hungry grasshopper, presumably to die. The second-to-last image in OF is an enormous view of the expanding frog, about to burst. Well done! 6¼" by 5½".
