Abstract
Last evening a lot of “big shots” (Regents of the University, presidents of corporations, bank presidents, doctors, lawyers, etc., all socially elite, dined with the Community, an annual affair as the success of a private university depends largely on their support and good will. Public Relations they call it. I took one look into the assembly room where all were enjoying appetizers and then called a cab and headed for a poor Negro family living in a housing project not far from the “U.” There I enjoyed a few hamburgers, some potato chips and a bottle of root beer. I am sure I had a better time than the “big shots with their steaks along with all the trimmings.
