Abstract

Here are about 75 fables drawn from 17 collections published between 1750 and 1815. There is a T of C at the beginning. I find lots of traditional fables here, like "Der Räuber und der Esel" (11) and "Der aufgeblasene Frosch" (6). Illustrations occur at 13, 27, 51, 65, 93, 101, 111, and 123. Each takes up about half a page, while the other half remains empty. The Quellenverzeichnis after 151 declares that the illustrations are from "Auserlesene Fabeln" from 1777 and were done by Johanna Sybilla Krauss. The last element before this note on sources is a numbered list of the 17 sources used. Beneath each selection in the main part of the book, 9 to 128, one finds a number corresponding to this list and a page number. Some fables are in verse, and some in prose. A new fable starts a new page. 4" x almost 6".
