Abstract
This small pair of volumes (3¼ x 4½) may come from a larger set including other works. As far as I can establish, there are four illustrations per volume after the frontispiece of La Fontaine and the title-page design of animals lounging near a tree. The illustrations are full-page and well done: FC (57); FS (81); The Cat and the Old Rat (150); and TH (240). The latter is less distinctive than the other three. I had to work to decipher the tortoise! Not in Bodemann, who does have Castel de Courval doing a Florian edition in 1824.
