How do we react when someone says to us, "Here, let me help you with that?" We probably react differently, depending on whether we think we need the help. Our response might be, "Oh, thanks, I really appreciate that." Or, we might say, "No, thanks, I can handle it."||In sixteen lines of today's reading from Isaiah, the word, "I," is used eleven times. The "I" is God, the Holy One of Israel.|"I will help . . ."| "I will make . . ."| "I will answer . . ." |"I will open up . . ."|With the insistent "I," God seems to be pleading, "Let me help. I want to do so much for you."|How might we react, were we to hear God say to us, "Let me help. I want to do so much for you?" It probably depends on whether we think we need God's help. We might say, "Thanks, I really need help." We might say, "No, thanks, I can handle it on my own."|God wants to do so much for you, for me. God wants to save. In Jesus, the Messiah, he comes to save. How will we respond to his offer?
