Here is the English version of a book I have enjoyed in the original French and in German, both published by Lito. Two pages apiece for eleven fables. A pleasing large-format children's book. Among the illustrations, that of a fisherman in a newspaper hat is perhaps the most charming. The town and country mice, well contrasted in their clothing, have been enjoying champagne. I first found that French book twenty-six years ago! Searching on the translator's name finally yielded a date of publication on Amazon's website.
